Part Time Staff Member

Rocksport Climbing LLC is dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and inspiring space for climbers of all levels. We believe climbing should be accessible, educational, challenging, and fun, whether someone is stepping onto the wall for the first time or has been climbing for years. Our staff are the first point of contact for new visitors and the daily connection for our members, making them essential in shaping the Rocksport experience.

We are looking for team members who bring a customer focused mindset while prioritizing safety, community, and facility presentation. If you enjoy climbing in any form and are excited to share that passion with others, Rocksport may be the right place for you.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to both members and guests

  • Greet customers, check them in, and operate a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system

  • Maintain a clean, organized facility by ensuring all areas are presentable throughout each shift

  • Assist with Climber Orientations, belay qualifications, and safety reminders

  • Monitor the climbing floor with a focus on safety and risk management

  • Support youth programs, birthday parties, school groups, and community events when scheduled

  • Potential opportunities to work as a climbing instructor or youth coach based on experience and facility needs

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both children and adults

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable while maintaining professionalism and enforcing safety rules

  • Works well on a team and contributes to a positive, inclusive community environment

  • Displays good judgment, reliability, and a strong work ethic

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills

  • Customer service or sales experience preferred

  • Climbing experience preferred (minimum 1 year recommended)

Expectations

  • Minimum of 3 shifts per week

  • Evening and weekend availability required

  • Dependable, punctual, and professional

  • Consistently demonstrates integrity and respect for all community members
